Q: Are you surprised in being picked in this position by New Orleans?

A: "Yes, I'm definitely surprised. When my agent told me that New Orleans was on the phone with their general manager, I just wasn't ready for it. All of a sudden, my mom is saying it's the GM from the Saints, so it was crazy. I wasn't paying attention to the draft."

Q: Is it nice to be playing close to home?

A: "Yes, That was one of my big things. I'm just happy to be close to home. I'm just excited about the whole deal. I got family in Mobile, so that's not far at all. My brother is a Saints fan, so everything turned out really great."

Q: What do you think is your biggest abilities on the field?

A: "I think I can bring a lot to the game. I like the game. I like to make some contact. I like flying around to try to make plays. That's what I'm about. I'm excited about the whole deal."

Q: Were you particularly excited about joining Reggie Bush?

A: "I was just telling my brother, I don't know if the Saints have enough money for me after this. I'm excited about it. I'm a big fan of Reggie Bush. I have always played with USC in video games and they talk about how great he is and then I get to meet the guy and play with him. I'm just excited about that. I'll be the first one to ask for his autograph. I'm just excited about it. All of my friends are asking me about it."

Q: It sounds like you were anticipating that you would have to wait longer to be picked?

A: "I really didn't know where I was going. They said they told me the second round or the first round. I was just getting ready. I didn't care where. I didn't want to get overexcited, because you don't want a letdown or anything like that, so I'm just excited about it."

Q: Do you think you're going to be able to compete for a starting position?

A: "Everybody would like to play. The coaches have jobs for a reason. They'll bring me in and groom me along. When it's my time to play, I'll play. Of course I want to play. I'll have to start out on special teams. I'm excited about that. I haven't gotten to play there in a couple years. I just want to start off well, get on special teams and as I make more plays, that's when coaches get you on the field."
