by Ralph Malbrough
The New Orleans Saints achilles heal, their run defense,is alive and well. Baltimore's back up running back Chester Taylor had 93 yards and a touchdown on his first two carries to lead the Ravens to a 21-6 victory over the Saints. Taylor finished with 151 yards on 13 carries. The New Orleans defense has given up five runs of 40 yards or more this preseason. New Orleans first team offense could not get in the end zone against Baltimore. The Saints did manage two field goals in the first half. Baltimore added a second score before the half when Raven quarterback Kyle Boller threw a 31 yard strike to Clarence Moore to make the score 14-3 Baltimore. Boller was 5 of 11passing for 53 yards and an interception. Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks played the first half and was 10 of 20 for 139 yards. Baltimore finished the scoring when Jarvis Johnson returned an interception 78 yards for a score. The Saints also didn't catch any breaks in the injury department. Tight end Boo Williams tore his MCL and ACL knee ligaments is out for the season. Rookie linebacker Alfred Fincher broke his wrist. As always keep it here to NOPF for the latest on the Saints. |
