The Saints are practicing in Lucas Oil
Stadium this week as Hurricane Gustav charges at Louisiana. New Orleans
is a day away from landfall from what could be a very damaging
storm.
Lucas Oil Stadium is the brand new stadium of the
Colts, who are themselves practicing in a seperate facility.
The Saints intend to return to New Orleans on Friday, for their
regular season opener this Sunday, if all is well.
The team arrived in Indianapolis on Sunday. The
Colts are gladly offering the Saints some of the larger necessities
of practice, such as blocking sleds.
Notes: The Dolphins have claimed
G Andy Alleman, a third round pick of the Saints only 16 months
ago, off of waivers. The Patriots also put in a claim for Alleman.
The Bengals claimed DT Orien Harris, a free agent addition earlier
this year.
The
Saints
waived
Harris
and
Alleman on Saturday... Former Saint runningback Ricky Williams
is a re-born football player, and got a new one-year extension
from the Dolphins to keep him from becoming a free agent after
this season... Former Saints RB Jessie Chatman has been suspended
by the league for four games. Chatman was a Saint during the
Saints' Katrina-affected 2005 season, but never played...
