49ers ink former Saint Pro Bowl KR Lewis

We all knew it wouldn't be long before Michael Lewis, beloved Pro Bowl return man and utility receiver of the past six seasons for the Saints, got a new job after being released over the offseason.

The 49ers cut their own 2006 third round pick, WR Brandon Williams, after struggling as a receiver and fumbling at a key moment last week.

Former Saints special teams coach Al Everest rejoins Lewis, who also joins former Eagle and current 49er safety Michael Lewis, creating an interesting jersey naming problem.

The Saints cut Lewis, 35, in June along with longtime teammate DT Willie Whitehead.
