GREEN BAY, Wis.--Brett Favre threw for three scores and RB Najeh Davenport had a pair of rushing TDs as Green Bay defeated New Orleans, 52-3 in Lambeau Field.

The Packers (1-4) had a 35-point first half after the Saints (2-3) took a 3-0 first quarter lead on a field goal by K John Carney. Favre threw two TD passes, RB Najeh Davenport ran for two scores and CB Al Harris returned an interception 22 yards for a TD in the half for Green Bay.

The Saints defense forced the Packers into a three-and-out on the game's opening drive. The Saints got the ball after a Green Bay punt at their 48 and a key 22-yard pass from QB Aaron Brooks to RB Deuce McAllister on third down put the ball in Packers territory at the 44. McAllister got the call on the next two plays for five and eight yards to the 21. The drive stalled and Carney came on and made a 33-yard field goal with 8:51 to play.

Green Bay got the ball back and Favre converted a pair of third downs as he ran for nine yards and connected on a 13-yard pass to WR Donald Driver to the Saints 12. On second down, RB Tony Fisher hauled in a pass from Favre to the New Orleans 1. Davenport went up the middle for one yard and a touchdown on the next play as the Packers took a 7-3 lead with 2:24 to go in the first quarter.

The Packers got the game's first turnover as Harris stepped in front of a Brooks pass intended for WR Donte' Stallworth at the New Orleans 22 and raced in the interception untouched for a touchdown with 57 seconds remaining in the quarter and a 14-3 Green Bay advantage.

Harris got his second pick of the game as the quarter came to a close as he snagged another pass intended for Stallworth at the Green Bay 32.

Green Bay turned the takeaway into points as they went on a 10-play, 68-yard drive, capped by a four-yard TD run by Davenport with 8:50 remaining in the quarter as the Packers extended their margin to 21-3. The big play of the drive came on a 24-yard gain around the right side by Davenport to the Saints' 18.

A 25-yard pass from Favre to WR Robert Ferguson with 6:42 to play before halftime gave the Packers a 28-3 lead.

Saints TE Ernie Conwell was hit after a five-yard gain to the Saints 42 with 44 seconds left in the half and fumbled. The ball was recovered by Green Bay LDE Kenny Peterson and advanced eight yards to the 34. A 15-yard face mask penalty during the return on New Orleans gave the Packers the ball at the Saints 19.

Three plays later, Favre lofted a one-yard TD pass to TE David Martin for a touchdown with 24 seconds to play as Green Bay led, 35-3 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Favre threw his third scoring pass of the day, a 26-yard pass to TE Donald Lee with 11:24 to go for a 42-3 Packers advantage.

Todd Bouman came in at quarterback for the Saints with 8:40 left in the quarter, as he replaced Aaron Brooks, who finished 9-of-22 passing for 146 yards with two interceptions.

Green Bay added a 26-yard field goal by K Ryan Longwell with 3:37 remaining in the quarter as the Packers led, 45-3.

In the fourth quarter, Bouman was intercepted by Packers MLB Nick Barnett at the Green Bay 5 and he went the distance for the touchdown with 8:19 to go for the game's final points.

Favre was 19-of-27 passing for 215 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Packers. Davenport had 12 carries for 54 yards and two scores.

For the Saints, WR Az-Zahir Hakim had his eighth 100-yard receiving game -- his first as a Saint -- as he caught five passes for 108 yards. RB Antowain Smith led New Orleans in rushing with 12 carries for 36 yards, while Brooks had two carries for 32 yards and McAllister had 11 rushes for 31 yards.

Bouman, in relief of Brooks, completed 5-of-13 passes for 31 yards and was intercepted once. The Saints return to San Antonio next Sunday (Oct. 16) to face NFC South rival Atlanta (Noon CT; FOX, WWL 870-AM, KGLA 1540-AM [Spanish], Saints Radio Network) in the Alamodome.
