Free agent wide receiver Jerome Pathon (Colts) visited the Saints today but left town without a contract.
Pathon, 6'0", 182 pounds, played in only four games in the 2001 season for the Colts, catching only 24 balls for 330 yards and two touchdowns. He missed most of the second half of the season with a broken foot suffered against the Saints.
He recently had screws removed from his broken foot and is just now starting to jog.
Pathon almost missed most of the 1999 season with injury. In 1998, his rookie season, and 2000 he caught 50 balls each year. A second-round pick by the Colts in 1998 out of Washington, Pathon started immediately.
Kansas City, Houston, Minnesota, and Green Bay are also reportedly very interested. Pathon also visited the Texans today, and will visit the Packers next. The Colts are also reportedly interested in resigning the speedster.
With so much depth at the wide receiver position in the draft, the team is not expected to put any big money into a free agent receiver.
