A Sunset, Utah native who was a two-year starter at outside linebacker for the Cougars. Another intelligent, high-character player for the Saints in the draft.

Was an active, sideline-to-sideline mainstay for the Cougars who had a productive career. While he is a fast, athletic player with good size, does not have great strength nor is a rock-solid tackler. Very aggressive with good instincts in the flow of the play, although he did not excel in pass coverage.

Absolutely must improve his strength while still maintaining his good pass rush skills. Because of his speed - his greatest asset - he was a valuable blitzer for BYU. Strictly played weakside linebacker for the Cougars although with the Saints could be tried all over the back four.

Bockwoldt was projected as a 7th round pick and joins a very deep, very competitive linebacking corp for the Saints which also features yesterday's 2nd round pick Courtney Watson from Notre Dame. Bockwoldt was the Defensive MVP of the annual Hula Bowl post-season all-star game.

At Northridge High in Sunset, Utah Bockwoldt had a 4.0 GPA and starred on the football and the track team in the 4x100 relay.
