The Saints continued their search for a third receiver Tuesday when they had free agent Az-Zahir Hakim in for a visit.
Hakim has played the last three years for Detroit. He caught 31 passes in 2004 for 533 yards. He played for St Louis from 1998 to 2001.
Hakim was not offered a contract and is the latest player the Saints have talked to in their quest to find a third receiver since the release of Jerome Pathon.
New Orleans pushed hard to sign the Patriots Troy Brown but Brown resigned with New England.
Hakim has 265 catches for 3,555 yards for his career. He is known by Saints fans as the guy who dropped the punt that sealed New Orleans only playoff win in 2000.
