Round 6 - Pick 171 - Oregon State WR Mike Hass - 6'0", 208, 4.63 40
The Saints are beginning to establish a trend on day two. Hass is not the fastest, quickest or most athletic receiver on the board, but is sure-handed and was a clutch collegiate player. Smart and tough, Hass ran very poorly for a receiver in offseason workouts. Is more quick than fast, and is strictly a possession receiver. He never lived up to his billing at Oregon State and hasn't shown the consistent improvement that sets him on course to be an NFL receiver. Nevertheless, he was extremely productive in the Beaver's pass-oriented offense. He proved that he was smart, durable, hard-working and a team player, all traits that Mickey Loomis seems to be targeting in recent years.
The Biletnikoff winner as the best receiver in the nation in 2005, he had 176 catches over the past two years. But with his attributes of toughness and smarts, he should be a good special teamer.
