Former Saints Involved in Coaching Moves

Former 2005 are assistants finding jobs north, former starter Fontenot already into coaching.


Jerry Fontenot - Former Saint starting center who retired after the 2004 spent time as a coaching intern under his former offensive coordinator in New Orleans, Mike McCarthy, who is now the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. McCarthy promoted Fontenot to assistant offensive line coach on January 15.

Winston Moss - Former linebackers coach under Jim Haslett probably deserved a promotion when Rick Venturi struggled. Former Raiders linebacker has been hired as the assistant head coach/defense of the Packers as of January 15.

Mike Sheppard - Offensive coordinator for the Saints in 2005 after spending time with the team as a quarterbacks coach, Sheppard has caught on with the Bengals as their wide receivers coach as of January 16.

Jim Haslett - Former Saints head coach and current Rams DC is rumored to be on the radar of the multiple open head coaching jobs, but nothing concrete yet.

Evan Marcus - Former Saints strength and training coach for three years under Haslett is leaving the University of Virginia for the head strength and training job with the Atlanta Falcons under new head coach Bobby Petrino as of January 16.
