The Saints' draft that started with a bang ended with a fizzle.
Mickey Loomis sent next year's fifth round pick and this year's seventh-round pick to Philadelphia for a fifth round pick, which everyone assumed would by Saints-linked runningback Rashad Jennings from Liberty. Instead, the Saints took the draft's second punter, Thomas Morstead from Southern Methodist.
New Orleans traded their seventh round pick (222th overall) and their 2010 fifth round pick to the Eagles for the 164th overall pick to take punter Thomas Morstead of SMU.
The Eagles traded the 222nd pick to Indianapolis, who also drafted a kicking specialist in Pat McAfee from West Virginia.
