Notes: Week Before Camp Full of Off-Field "News"

-We wish this wasn't news. But according to the rest of the world, it is. From a football standpoint, perhaps one less distraction (or reality television show on his DVR) (or Red Bull) will only benefit him. Just another notch on the belt, Reggie.

-The Ravens have signed street free agent WR Biren Ealy. The Saints signed him off the street after the 2008 season. Then, Ealy signed the street in a completely different way. He was released shortly thereafter.

-More talk about former LSU Tiger and current Patriot DL Jarvis Green's comments about wanting to be a Saint in 2010.

-Speaking of the Tigers, former Saints QB Bobby Hebert's son, T-Bob, is starting fall practice soon for LSU and is competing with Patrick Lonergan to be the starting center for the Tigers. Both men are redshirt freshmen though T-Bob is also recovering from a serious knee injury and rehab. Lonergan is a graduate of Rummel High School in New Orleans.

-The Saints open practice Friday morning at 8:50AM at their headquarters in Metairie. Players are to arrive by the day before. Malcolm Jenkins, the Saints' top pick, though unsigned has reportedly moved in to an apartment in the city and is ready to go when the contract is. The Saints have already released a player to make room for their first draft pick signee.
