Saints apply first sweat to 2010 season

The Saints opened OTAs on Tuesday at their headquarters in Metairie, and a day when the city broke heat records at 94 degrees, warm enough for a late May beginning to on-field work.

The day prompted a flurry of activity on the the social media site Twitter.

New Saint DE Alex Brown, the ex-Bear but Florida alum and native, wrote: "Today was the hottest practice I have been apart of since 2001! And I am not kidding!! I am sure it will get better from here but WOW!! lol"  Brown was a senior at UF in 2001.

Fellow Gator alum Bobby McCray agreed: "1st practice was a beast....just got in the car....and I'm sweating already"
