The Saints open exhibition play tonight in Foxboro against the Patriots, ending two days of joint team practices and a long road trip for the Saints that began with a Monday visit at the White House in Washington, D.C.
Reggie Bush, who is healthy and should play, sent this message via twitter: "Big game preseason game tomorrow! Saints vs. Patriots! 7:30pm eastern! Looking forward to a tough game and our first win on the road!"
Nesbit sues over Starcaps: Adding to the legal proceedings involved with the Starcaps suit in federal court, former Saints starting G Jamar Nesbit, now a free agent, has sued the NFL.
Nesbit contends that the NFL knew that Starcaps, a weight loss supplement, contained bumetanide, then suspended Nesbit and five other players when they tested positive.
Nesbit chose not to appeal and served the four game suspension, while Charles Grant, Will Smith, Deuce McAllister of the Saints and Kevin Williams and Pat Williams of the Vikings.
Nesbit lost his starting job by serving the four game Starcaps suspension during the 2008 season.
Then-rookie Carl Nicks took the job and never gave it back and Nesbit, 33, was a backup in 2009. The Saints released Nesbit in March.
Notes: The Colts signed CB Marcus McCauley, who was a Saint for less than a month during December of 2009... Free agent DT Kendrick Clancy's agent reports that he is healthy and has drawn interest from the Saints, Chiefs and Texans. Clancy was lost to a knee injury in November 2009 and spent the rest of the season on injured reserve... WR Matt Simon, cut by the Saints last week to make room for veteran WR Mark Bradley, signed in Seattle... Long-time Bucs LB Derrick Brooks, who worked out for the Saints last summer, has retired...
