G Jahri Evans, despite challenging for the league's title in holding penalties, was named as a starter on the NFC Pro Bowl team for 2011.
Evans is the only Saint named as a starter on the initial NFC team roster.
QB Drew Brees was named to the Pro Bowl as as a backup, with the starting honors going to Eagles QB Michael Vick. Atlanta QB Matt Ryan was also named as a backup to the NFC team.
Evans' linemate guard Carl Nicks was also named as a backup.
No players from the Saints' fifth ranked defense were named, despite ranking second against the pass and with a strong year from Roman Harper and a breakout success by Malcolm Jenkins.
The Pro Bowl, now played the week before the Super Bowl, isn't attended by players on Super Bowl teams. Last year, a record number of Saints were eventually named to the Pro Bowl and didn't play.
Like last year, it is possible that many more Saints could be named to the NFC's Pro Bowl roster.
In the NFC South, Atlanta sent seven players to the initial roster, including four starters, the most by any single team in the NFL.
Carolina sent only one, T Jordan Gross, and Tampa Bay was unrepresented during tonight's prime time Pro Bowl announcement show on the NFL Network.
