While the Saints are on a six game win streak with 30+ points scored in the past five games, great numbers are being generated by Saints QB Drew Brees.
According to NFL research, Drew Brees is the first quarterback with 20,000 yards and 150 touchdowns passing during his first first five seasons after moving to a new team. That should be proof enough that his 2006 free agency signing by Mickey Loomis was the best free agent acquisition in history.
Benefiting from Brees' success, WR Marques Colston moved past Danny Abramowicz on team record books for most touchdown receptions. Now with 40 after today, he is only eight touchdown catches away from tying Eric Martin for second most in team history. Two more after that and Colston would tie the current team record holder Joe Horn with 50.
Colston has also moved into third place in receiving yardage with 4995, though he remains 2627 yards away from Horn in second place. He's also in third place but far distant behind Horn in receptions, needing 162 more to tie for second place.
