Brees played through sprained MCL in 2010

Saints head coach Sean Payton confirmed at the Senior Bowl that QB Drew Brees played through a low-grade MCL sprain during 2010.

Brees was suffering from a knee injury through the early games of the 2010 season.

Saints FB Heath Evans, on an ESPN television show, apologized lightly to Brees then said, "Drew Brees played six weeks with a torn MCL."
