Locked-out Saints veterans and draft picks, and even some soon-to-be free agents, will begin player-led workouts tomorrow at Tulane University.
Many of the Saints' players, including a leadership core of Drew Brees, Jonathan Vilma and Jon Stinchcomb will be there. Evans told the Times-Picayune's Mike Triplett that he expects roughly 25 teammates.
Free agents-to-be including Danny Clark and Heath Evans and draft picks from the weekend including third rounder Johnny Patrick and seventh rounder Nate Bussey.
Online reports indicate that other free agents, like LB Scott Shanle, will not be participating. Without a contract, a workout injury could mean a lot of money lost in a free agent contract.
The players' workouts are not open to the public, but they will be open to the media for the first day.
A decision from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis could come as early on Thursday, which will lift the lockout or extend a stay of a lower court's ruling through the duration of the appeal.
