The Saints have agreed to terms with CB Leigh Torrence, 29, who has been with the Saints for the past three seasons.
Torrence, an experienced special teamer and a solid locker room presence, was one of many free agents-to-be in the Saints secondary.
Torrence, 5'11, 179, has but one interception in his seven year NFL career, but it was a huge one.
With the Saints reduced to one healthy cornerback, his pick of Ben Roethlisberger last Halloween against the Steelers was crucial, slamming the door on the Steelers' fevered comeback and sealing the Saints' fifth win of the season. Having been knocked out of the game twice before the closing minutes, Torrence leapt and out-muscled WR Mike Wallace for the ball, ripping it away from his grasp with 1:40 left.
Torrence confirmed his return to the Saints on Twitter tonight, replying "Yes Sir, back to work" to former Tennessee quarterback and current Kentucky WR coach Tee Martin.
