The Saints have re-signed OLB Clint Ingram, who will give winning a job with the Saints a second try.
Last year, free agent LB Clint Ingram was thought to have a shot at starting at one of the Saints' outside linebacker positions when he was signed as one of the higher-profile free agents of the 2010 offseason. The Saints hoped Ingram would fill the shoes of Scott Fujita.
A former player under Gregg Williams at Jacksonville, Ingram, 6'2, 240, 28, had a serious knee injury and micro-fracture surgery following it as a member of the Jaguars in 2009.
But Ingram started training camp on the Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP) list, as he continued to rehab the knee injury. The Saints cut Ingram when he came off of the PUP six weeks into the season, and Ingram did not play in 2010.
The Saints also signed DB Terrail Lambert, 5'11, 190, 25, a former Dolphin who is two years out of Notre Dame and has not played in an NFL game.
To make room on the roster, the Saints cut undrafted rookies CB Josh Gatlin and OL Carl Johnson. Johnson had failed his physical exam.
