0-4 NFC South

The NFC South is the only division in football without a win after week one.

All four teams in the NFC South have lost only twice before in the division's previous nine years.

The Saints lost to the Packers on opening night last Thursday.  The Panthers lost to the Cardinals despite a breakout, historic outing by rookie QB Cam Newton, who tossed for a record 422 yards passing in his first NFL game.  The Bucs lost to a surprising Lions team despite an early lead, with the Tampa defense allowing a 305-yard passing day from Matthew Stafford and the Lions defense knocking Josh Freeman out of the game for a while in the third quarter.

The Falcons were dismantled by the Saints' next opponent the Chicago Bears.  The Falcons offense was pushed around by Brian Urlacher, Julius Peppers and the Bears defense in Chicago.  Surely, Jermon Bushrod has a tough matchup coming up against Peppers.  The Saints' new starting center, long-time Bear Olin Kreutz, will be facing his old teammates for the first time.
