Saints could return from Nashville with playoff spot secured

The Saints could return home today from chilly Tennessee with a playoff spot in hand.  Two different scenarios would allow them to lock up a spot, but only with a win over the Titans.

If the Saints lose, clinching a playoff spot will be delayed for another week.

If Atlanta loses to Cam Newton and the Panthers today, kickoff at the same time in Carolina, the Saints would clinch the NFC South and a home playoff game.

If Atlanta wins, the Saints could still clinch at least a wild card spot with a loss by Detroit at home to Minnesota at noon, or a win by the Tebows over the Bears in Denver in a 3:05 kickoff.

The Titans are on the outside looking in right now, and need this win to stay alive in the hunt. Tennessee is two games behind Houston in the AFC South.  A loss by the Titans today and a Texans win in Cincinnati would give the AFC South title to the Texans.
