Saints resting Vilma, Jenkins, Moore; Ingram to miss playoff run

Today at home against Carolina the Saints have deactivated WR Lance Moore (hamstring), RB Mark Ingram (turf toe), TE John Gilmore Jr. (ankle), LB Jonathan Vilma (knee), FS Malcolm Jenkins (stinger), newly-signed TE Tory Humphrey, and reserve DE Jeff Charleston.

Ingram will reportedly have surgery on the toe that will end his season, ruling him out of the playoffs.  Ingram has not played since December 4 and has appeared in 10 of 15 games this season.  Ably replacing him is Chris Ivory, who sat out the first half of the season, but has since rushed for 247 yards on 60 carries.

Vilma's deactivation gives him a week to rest his long-term knee injury which has limited him this season, and Jenkins suffered the shoulder stinger last week on a devastating hit he delivered on Roddy White.  Moore suffered the hamstring injury early on against the Falcons last week.

The Saints will field Jimmy Graham and rarely-used backup Michael Higgins at tight end, with Gilmore injured and Humphrey deactivated.  Graham is 78 yards away from breaking Kellen Winslow, Sr.'s 31-year old record for receiving yardage in a single season, 1290 yards.
