The Saints have activated defensive headstone MLB Jonathan Vilma from the Physically Unable to Perform list, placing him on the 53 man roster and dressing him out for the Saints' game in Tampa Bay today against the Creamsicles. Vilma was named a captain for today's game.
Inactives for the Saints today include starting LB David Hawthorne, making Vilma's return from a knee injury and bounty suspension especially helpful. To make room for Vilma on the roster, the Saints waived WR Greg Camarillo, who may be re-signed as soon as Vilma's suspension is once again re-applied by NFL and court proceedings.
Also inactive today is star Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, leaving a gaping hole in the Saints' passing game. Graham did not travel with the team to Tampa Bay because of an ankle sprain.
Also inactive are RB Chris Ivory, CB Elbert Mack, DE Turk McBride, DT Tyrunn Walker and T Bryce Harris.
The Tampa Bay Bucs, wearing their throwback orange creamsicle uniforms, will still be without defensive stars CB Aqib Talib (suspended for Adderall use), DE Da'Quan Bowers (still on PUP with Achilles' injury).
