Cost of Ruud's Three Games: A Seventh Round Pick

LB Barrett Ruud, acquired by the Saints for a conditional, undisclosed draft pick on August 20 from Seattle, played only three games for New Orleans before they cut him.

The Saints cut Ruud on October 8 after week five, after he had recorded no tackles in three appearances, spending two games inactive.

The cost now known of Ruud's trade is a seventh round pick, reducing the Saints' draft class to five picks.  The Saints are without their second round pick because of the bounty scandal and coverup.

Ruud signed with the Texans on October 10 and ended up playing significant time for Houston due to injuries.
