Pre-Game Notes: Grant, Young Brown Inactive vs. Texans

Injury Update: LT Jammal Brown is inactive after being downgraded to doubtful on Friday and not practicing during the week. Zach Strief will make his second career start.

Strief last started on November 5 of last season against the Buccaneers, when he held Simeon Rice without a tackle.

Starting defensive linemen DT Brian Young and DE Charles Grant are also inactive. Young was an expected sit but Grant had made progress coming back from a month-old ankle injury, practicing at full speed on Wednesday and limitedly on Friday.

DE Renaldo Wynn is expected to start in Grant's place. The DT rotation without Young will be Hollis Thomas, Kendrick Clancy, Antwan Lake and McKinley Boykin.

Key reserve CB Usama Young is also out with a hamstring injury.

Also inactive for the Saints are S Jay Bellamy, rookie G Andy Alleman, LB Matt McCoy and rookie WR Robert Meachem.

Texans WR Andre Johnson is active, RB Ahman Green is inactive.
