Thomas injures wrist; Colston returns

On the first play of full speed, live tackling scrimmage at Saints training camp, RB Pierre Thomas suffered a left wrist injury that prompted x-ray exams.

After practice, head coach Sean Payton guessed that Thomas would be fine and that it was only a bruise.  Results of the exams are not out yet.

Thomas, who is expected to start at runningback, was injured on a goal line drill, hit hard by strong safety Roman Harper.

It may not be a coincidence that NFL Network is reporting that free agent RB Ladell Betts, a long time Redskins, is to meet with the Saints this week among other teams.  Betts tore his left MCL and ACL in November of 2009.

Meanwhile, WR Marques Colston took to full practice today after starting camp on the Physically Unactive to Perform list.
