Reggie returns; Shockey, Sharper out in Dallas on Thanksgiving

RB Reggie Bush will make his return from a nine week absence due to a broken leg today in Dallas.

Bush has not played since a Week 2 victory in San Francisco.  The injury was expected to have a four to six week recovery time.

The Saints should enjoy a healthy, active Reggie Bush, returning to the scene on one of his breakout games.  Bush romped for 162 yards on just 12 touches in a big win for Sean Payton against the Cowboys in December 2006

RB Julius Jones, now a Saint, was a Cowboy that night in 2006 and ran for a 77-yard touchdown against the Saints on the Cowboys' second snap.  Jones is active today and is expected to back up Bush and Chris Ivory.

Also making their healthy returns are starting FS Malcolm Jenkins and nickel corner Patrick Robinson.

Starters TE Jeremy Shockey, RB Pierre Thomas are inactive today, as are veterans FS Darren Sharper and RB Ladell Betts.  Rookie DE/LB Junior Galette, after appearing in his first ever game on Sunday, S Matt Giordano and T Charles Brown are also inactive.   QB Sean Canfield is on the 53-man roster and is in uniform as the emergency quarterback, his first game in uniform for the Saints.

Thomas remains inactive, having injured his ankle in Week 3 against the Falcons.  Much speculation abounds about his injury, which like Bush's has also taken a lot longer to recovery from.

For the Cowboys, starting QB Tony Romo (broken collarbone) is among the inactives, as is former Saint OL Jermey Parnell.
